Though neither side’s first XI wore jackets for the line-up and introductions to Prince Charles, Manchester United’s substitutes wore white jackets that looked vaguely inspired by United’s away shirts.

Neither side wore jackets on the day but Chelsea appeared to have black jackets that weren’t used.

During the early 2000s anthem jackets fall out of fashion, they were not in evidence at the 2003, 2004, 2005 finals.

No jackets at the 2007 final, the first at the rebuilt Wembley Stadium, nor were they evident in 2008.

Though neither Everton or Chelsea wore jackets on a hot day at Wembley, Everton had some at least.
