Just like that, the year 2025 has passed us by. Michael Bublé is back on ice and the January transfer window is open, but as always with Auction Action we’re stuck in the past! We still have a month’s worth of online auction sales to cover before we can join the rest of you in 2026… (writes Mike Carter)
December was slim pickings relatively speaking, but we’ve still got some crackers to share with you.

We’ll start with this 2014/15 away shirt by Umbro, which was worn by Robbie Brady v. Crystal Palace in April 2015. It was listed at a very reasonable price of £63.10 and sold later that evening. If the new owner can photo match this to the Palace game then they’ve found a gem of a buy, at a steal of a price!

This 2021/22 home shirt by Umbro was match-worn/player-issued to George Moncur. It was listed for £115.10, but it appears to have sold via the best offer feature. Reading the description, it states that there is a stain, which can be seen in the pictures on the listing, and mentions that the garment has a strong perfume smell. It is hard to believe that these are not connected!

The same seller also sold a 2023/24 third shirt by Kappa, which was also listed as match-worn/player issue by Cody Drameh. It was listed as an auction to start with, before being pulled and relisted as a buy-it-now. The price the seller had agreed with the buyer was £150 – reasonable.
Our next few listings take us to the auction page of Tiger Leisure and three very interesting items. The club did an auction per day for December, but a few had already passed before we twigged so it, so we’re not able to bring you the full list, however some of the available items are ace, so we’ll cover those.

First up is Matt Crooks’ 2025/26 home shirt by Kappa, from the victory over Wrexham on 10th December. Matt was chosen as Sky Sports player of the match for this fixture, so we were somewhat surprised that this shirt ‘only’ sold for £255. It doesn’t really follow the trend that we have seen with some of the shirts sold from this current season.

Now what does make Crooks’ £255 look ‘cheap’ is Mo Belloumi’s home 2025/26 shirt from the 3-1 win over Millwall at The Den on the 13th December. Heading into the last hour, the winning bid was £175, but two interested parties took the final price to £765 in the final 55 minutes! Unbelievable stuff!

Quite possibly the most creative item available via Tiger Leisure was these match-used corner flags. Now let’s face it, there isn’t any need for anyone to have these, yet we’d all love a set, right? The set of four flags, without the poles, sold for £86. They’ve even had the manufacturer’s name scribbled out to comply with EFL regulations. Quirky, eh!

Our final two listings feature shirts that have had player names heat applied to the back, the first is a 2017/18 home shirt by Umbro in size medium with the surname of Spaniard Jon Toral and #11. This shirt sold for £24.61

The last shirt is a 2021/22 third by Umbro printed with the name and squad number of local lad, Keane Lewis-Potter. It sold for an offer after being listed at £31.89, but looking at the damage to the heat-applied elements, I’m shocked that it has even sold at all.
That’s your lot for 2025. We’ll be back in February covering the best of the online offerings that January brings to our attention.
Caveat emptor!
