Welcome to the Auction Action for June 2025, where for the first time we have a new avenue to explore. The club revealed Hull City Auctions (as part of the Tiger Leisure site) on the 4th June, with item listings beginning the following day.
The first ‘batch’ of items to be auctioned was the match-worn 120th anniversary shirts worn by the Tigers in arguably the home performance of the season, against Cardiff City on 28th September 2024.

Shirts worn in this fixture featured the heritage number of each player under the tigerhead crest in gold vinyl (except for that of Steven Alzate, who was making his debut so hadn’t yet been allocated a heritage number). The auction felt somewhat like a charity drive, in terms of the values that were paid. Let’s take a deep dive and you will see what I mean…
Three of the shirts sold for £500 or more. Those were worn by Abu Kamara and Liam Millar (£505) as well as Regan Slater (£500). In Kamara’s case, he didn’t enter the field until the 72nd minute.
Oscar Zambrano probably played his best game for Hull City in this game, picking up a goal and an assist. His shirt sold for £415, the same price that Marvin Mehlem’s shirt fetched, also.
Chris Bedia’s 90th-minute penalty likely made his shirt more desirable to potential buyers, with his shirt selling for £370. Cody Drameh played all 90 minutes in the win over Cardiff – his shirt sold for £345.
Kasey Palmer and Steven Alzate both entered the field in the final quarter of the game, and both players’ shirts sold for £335 each. The shirts of the centre back pairing of Sean McLouglin and Alfie Jones finished at £325 and £310 respectively.
Abdus Ömür (£305), Xavier Simons (£295), Mason Burstow (£275), Ryan Giles (£260) and Fin Burns (£255) complete the shirt sales from the anniversary fixture.
That leaves two outfield shirts that didn’t make it to auction, those worn by Captain Lewie Coyle and double-goalscorer Mohamed Belloumi (which was on display in the Central Library pop-up museum).
Here’s all the sales in one list…
Kamara – £505, Millar – £505, Slater – £500, Mehlem – £415, Zambrano – £415, Bedia – £370, Drameh – £345, Palmer – £335, Alzate – £335, McLouglin – £325, Jones – £310, Ömür – £305, Simons – £295, Burstow – £275, Giles – £260, Burns – £255
Sales from our usual trusted source, eBay, were at a minimum in June, but we do have a few things to share…

This 1997/98 home shirt by Super League in size large sold for £110 or best offer. There is some bobbling to the shirt which is fairly common, unfortunately. We suspect it sold for an offer.

There is an old joke about getting value for money out of a Vennegoor of Hesselink print, unless you are charged by the letter. This shirt is quite interesting and backs up something we’ve noted of late – people applying name and number sets to shirts themselves to likely enhance their sale price. We believe this is highly likely to be the case here, as this shirt uses full vinyl letters and numbers, and not the felt type Hull City used back in 2009.
That didn’t stop somebody splashing £100 on the shirt though…

Harry Maguire had a breakout season for City in the Championship in 2015/16 and this home shirt in size large carrying his surname and number sold for £52.72 last month. The shirt looks in really good condition, considering it is now somehow 10 years old…
For the final two shirts we’ll head back over to Hull City’s official auction platform. Danny Warneck let on via TwitteX that he was the successful highest bidder for this signed shirt by Fabio Carvalho having paid £255.

The price paid is around the value we’ve seen club auctioned match worn shirts sell for – not just pimped up replica shirts which have been signed.

The same can be said about this Billy Sharp signed shirt, too, which sold for £165. Again, a very high price for a shirt that wasn’t used in match action.
That’s everything for June. Check back in August for our take on July’s polyester auctions and digital sales, and remember… Caveat Emptor!
