The only downside to the club’s retail arm consistently putting out desirable items, and giving fans a plethora of options and choices, is the social media bores who post “City have more jackets than points”. Those types are fairly easy to ignore however, even though they’ve just been stirred to life by the latest Tiger Leisure drop.
In September we saw the launch of the glorious black and gold 120th Anniversary jackets, as modelled by Garreth Roberts and Waggy, a month later the same style of jacket in a more familiar colourway of black and amber with red trim was released, and adopted as the players’ walkout jacket as the weather became wintry.

As November draws to a close, we’re now blessed with another jacket, one that will become part of the squad’s travel suit, and one that revisits the ‘blackout’ style that proved so popular in 2021/22 when away shirts quickly sold out, and the look was retained for 2022/23 as a third kit, albeit with an updated sponsor.
As with both the Anniversary and Walkout jackets, this new top features repeating Kappa ‘Omini’ woven into panels that runs from each neckline to just above the elbows. The ‘Omini’ are tonal, appearing grey when viewed up close. Grey piping arcs down from the start of the Raglan sleeves beyond the pockets on each side.

The Kappa logo on the chest is fully embroidered across from the tiger-head, which as it had been on the previous two jackets, is freed from the housing of the plectrum shaped shield of the club crest.
Trackie pants complete the look, but the blackout fun doesn’t end there: The jackets and pants are part of a wider range that includes a lifestyle jersey and bucket hats.
Are the club milking us? Manipulating our swollen wallet shaped teats for creamy cash? No, they’re simply giving City fans options and choices. There’s no compulsion to buy, but if you like this stuff you may choose to. We’ve never been spoilt for choice before, it’s no bad thing.
