Here at HCK HQ we’re still stuck in 2023, but that’s all good as we have some cool Hull City polyester sales to share with you from the month of December. That won’t stop us wishing you a Happy New Year though! Let’s draw a close to 2023, by taking a look at the sales that closed the year out…
First up is this 1986-88 home shirt in size small. It sold for £165 after three bidders battled to secure the shirt. The shirt itself looks in very good condition, with just one stitching issue on the seam. The price is fairly respectful for the size being small, but the condition being good.

A 1990-92 away shirt in size large was available via a thrifty seller in Ukraine! It is amazing how many sports shirts end up over there, the country is one of the biggest markets for used clothing in Eastern Europe and the ongoing war has seen appeals for clothing donated as charity aid. Some then end up back here after eBay sales. Anyway, this one sold for approximately £160.43. Due to the currency conversion rate, the end value can fluctuate somewhat.

Next up we a 1992/93 home shirt in size small, that sold twice in the month of December. The first time it was listed it sold for £342.99 after 12 bids. For one reason or another, we assume the highest bidder didn’t pay, meaning that it was relisted. During the second period of bidding, it collected 18 bids, but this time sold for £280.
We stay in 1992/93 for the next item, but this time it is an away shirt, in size large. It sold for £94 which we think is a fair price for the buyer, when you consider the condition. The seller deserves merit points though, the description is detailed, true and transparent. What more could you ask for?

This 1995-97 away shirt in size XL sold using the best-offer feature, after being listed as a buy it now for £124.99. The shirt looks in good nick for its age, and looking at the feedback that the buyer has left the seller, they’re very happy with their purchase. They went on to say “Item super. Well wrapped. Great Condition and a lovely note as well. Thanks”

The resale market on printed replica shirts is still going well and this 2015/16 home shirt printed with Dawson #21 sold after it was listed at £49.99 as a but it now. A deal was secured after the buyer used the best offer option.

This 2016/17 away shirt printed with Snodgrass #10 in size XXL once again sold after the best offer option was used. The shirt was listed as a buy it now for £29.99.

The limited-edition retro range that HCAFC x Kappa released in late 2023 has opened the door to people making a quick buck on the resale market over Christmas. Here are a few items we watched with grim fascination.
The OG piece of the retro range is the black tracky top and this one in size XL sold for £103.

This amber tracky was clearly in demand after 9 bidders, placed 23 bids to secure this item. It sold for £120 and is a size large.

Originally listed for a lot more, this amber tracky in size XL sold for using the best offer feature. The buy it now price was set at £120 at the time of sale, however it did start at double that price.
That’s your lot for December and indeed 2023. We’ll be back next month, but don’t forget… Caveat emptor
