v. Wigan (1983/84)
When Don Robinson took over as chairman in 1982, red was added to the City colour scheme, and the tertiary tone was not just limited to the primary kit. Red shorts were created for the white away shirt but these were occasionally used with the amber home shirt, such as when City travelled to Springfield Park in Wigan in October 1993. The Latics and City fought out a 1-1 draw, with City’s goal coming from Andy Flounders. This was the second of seven visits the Tigers would make to Springfield Park before Wigan moved to the JJB Stadium.
